Glass Igloos

Today we have a new twist on igloos.  In Finland they have taken the archetypal igloo and reinvented it with glass.  Each igloo is a hotel room at the really interesting hotel located in Kakslauttanen.  While it may seem ridiculous to have an igloo made of glass in such a cold climate and where it snows, there is a method to their approach.  As you lay in your bed staring up at the sky, the aurora Borealis (northern lights) light up the sky in one of the most amazing natural shows you have ever seen!

Glass igloo provides an one of a kind opportunity to admire the northern lights and millions of stars of the crystal clear sky in a comfortable room temperature. Built from a special thermal glass the temperature inside the igloo always stays a normal level. It also prevents the glass from not getting white frosted, hence keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to under -30°C. Every igloo is equipped with a toilet and luxury beds.

9 Hours

A while back I covered a Tiny Hotel in Germany it was a really popular post and so I thought you all would like to see this one.  9 Hours is a high end capsule hotel in Japan, with a nice black and white minimalist theme, these are pretty neat.  Each pod has a control panel with a clock, light controls etc.  I did a little searching and couldn’t figure out the price.

It is a very visual hotel so I will let the photos tell the rest:
