I have always been interested in table ideas that I can pull out for a dinner party, but have tucked away when it is just me. I usually will eat my meals watching a TV show (the only time I watch TV) if I’m alone, go out with friends, or go to my families house for dinner. I like having people over for meals, but in the end it may happen one-two times a month. Though that is the life of a bachelor I guess.
so this table breaks down to a smaller size. While its a coffee table I like the concept and it could be done on a larger scale.
I found this neat end table made from left over 2×2′s from a build. It was constructed by gluing and clamping the scraps together. If I were doing this, I’d probably take it a step further and sand the whole top level and smooth. The different grains of the wood are great and shows another way to use building scraps from your tiny house.
There is some fascination I have with tables that break down into small spaces, here is yet another one. This one uses ratchet tensioners that you typically use to secure cargo, but I kinda like the look! This would be an interesting addition to a tumbleweed house. You could break this down and store it under your mattress, you wouldn’t see it, but when you want to have a group of folks over for a party outside in the garden or wherever, you suddenly have a big table.
Inspired by onion rings, the table can be expanded from half moon shape to full circle; Playing a multipurpose furniture role. This design is from Isariya Boon, what I really like about this table is that for most of the time it can serve as a half table, up against a wall. It would be perfect to place your keys, phone etc right inside the door of a Tiny House, but you could pull it out for a full table for dinner with friends.
This is a kinda neat table and bench, folding and sliding to different configurations and even defined spaces.
