I found this loft bed with an office below it. This certainly isn’t anything new, but what I really did like about it is that it incorporates steps and a little walkway behind it. One think I really don’t like about lofted/bunk beds is that they can be a bit awkward to get into. It certainly was fun to climb a ladder when I was 10, but now I just can’t get that into it. I would think that this is a much better way. The designers have also done a great job with the integration of storage into the stairs and with the different models (a desk and a closet).

So I have been harping on a particular mantra of tiny space organization and design, that being: maximize the vertical. If you are new here the basic jist is if you surrender a square foot of floor space for storage, maximize the use of that by taking the storage all the way to the top of the room.

One of the issues with this is of course if you have tall ceilings you can run into the issue of not being able to reach it. With this innovative concept you are able to remedy this issue, cut out any need for a ladder and bring multifunction into the space.

So check this out…..

Have you ever had one of those books that was some odd size and didn’t fit in your bookshelf? It bothers me to no end, to have to turn the book so I can’t read the spine, but I found this awesome shelf that lets you be flexible with your shelving and fit those odd items. This would work particularly well in a Tiny House, while most of our shelving is purpose built, because they are usually built-ins, there is sometimes when you have to store odd things, or things which you hadn’t anticipated. This is where having flexible solutions to save the day.

What I like about it is that its discrete and it offers a great storage advantage in seemingly wasted space. What you could put in this, I don’t know really know. The only thing that comes to mind is a mobster scene where two mobsters sit across from each other, Big Jim quietly reaches into his chair drawer and pulls out his Glock and seals the deal. Besides gruesome euphemism, I could see maybe keeping a shoe horn or polishing gear. Perhaps a…. I have no idea…. What purpose do you all think this would be good for?
